The Starlink $100 referral credit, in plain numbers
The rule in one line
As of , a new US customer who buys the kit and plan on starlink.com through a referral link gets $100[1] from Starlink after two complete monthly billing cycles: account credit by default, or cash via Stripe where offered. Nothing comes off at checkout.
- Each rule traced to Starlink’s terms or help center, with the date we read it
- The referral travels inside the link; there is no code field
- Independent US publisher: not affiliated with SpaceX or Starlink

Eligibility
Who qualifies for the $100 referral credit?
As of , Starlink’s referral terms pay the $100 to a new customer only when you have never held a Starlink subscription[2], your service address and the referrer’s are in the same country (for this site, the US)[2], and the kit and subscription are bought directly on starlink.com, not from a store, an unauthorized reseller or a private seller[2]. The referral link is for buying Residential or Roam service on starlink.com[1].
- Business accounts: Priority, Business and Enterprise accounts don't earn referral rewards[1].
- Renting the kit: it’s unconfirmed whether renting the kit still earns the reward: the terms require that the new customer “must purchase a Starlink Kit and subscription directly from www.starlink.com”, and Starlink has never said if a rental qualifies unverified[2].
- Past customers: a closed account at any address still counts as having had Starlink.

What are the four steps, and where can each go wrong?

Open the link and order in that tab
In our reading of the starlink.com page code (Oct 29, 2026), the referral is held only in the browser tab the link opened, so closing that tab drops it; Starlink doesn’t publish this as a rule[5]. Before you pay, the order page adds a green panel reading “Referral Code Applied” beside the Checkout button (beneath it on desktop, directly above it on phones) once the referral is attached[5]. The order steps
Pay bill 1 and keep a high-speed plan
Starlink counts the two cycles by monthly service invoices actually paid[2]. Standby Mode breaks the run: both cycles have to be on a high-speed plan, and months in Standby Mode don’t count[2]. The two-cycle rule

What does a working referral look like?
Open the link, pick a plan and enter your US address on starlink.com. A green panel reading “Referral Code Applied” next to Checkout means the referral is on the order; you type nothing.
No panel, or “Referral Code Not Applied”? Don’t pay yet: open the link again in the same browser. What to look for after you click

Timing
When does the $100 land on your bill?
As of , Starlink’s two texts differ: the referral terms say the $100 is credited to your second monthly subscription invoice[2], while the help center says it comes 60 days after activation at the earliest, subject to your account settings and an identity check[1]. Once it lands, a credit is applied to the next bill your account generates, or to the one after if a bill is already pending when it lands[3].
Nobody who ordered under the Oct 7, 2026 terms can reach day 60 before Dec 6, 2026, so neither reading has been seen in practice yet.
| Starlink text | What it says | Which bill (our reading) |
|---|---|---|
| Referral Program Terms | Credited to your second monthly subscription invoice[2] | Bill 2 |
| Help center | 60 days after activation at the earliest, subject to your account settings and an identity check[1] | Bill 3, the first after day 60, or a later one |

Your bills
How far does $100 go at your price?
Credits can be spent only on monthly service charges[6], never more than a bill’s total. US Residential prices vary by region[9] and starlink.com shows no Residential price until you enter an address[8], so each Residential card leads with the price on Starlink’s US order list, then the other levels seen in Starlink’s own price data since Oct 29, 2026. Which level an address gets, Starlink doesn’t publish. Before taxes and any kit line.
